Questions and Answers

Where and when does the Society meet?

Our venue is the recently refurbished

St. Martin's Church Hall
Barton Hill Road
Torquay  TQ2 8HU

Meetings are held from September to May (we have a break in the summer) on a Wednesday and start at 7.30pm. They normally last up to 2 hours. Members also organise other opportunities to meet at various locations to take photos throughout the year.

Can anyone join?

Yes, membership is open to photographers of all abilities, both amateur and professional.

What does membership cost?

Membership fees for 2017/18 are: Full membership £40; e-members £20; Student members and social members £10. Plus £1 per meeting attended (this includes refreshments and a raffle ticket). The membership fee is halved for anyone who joins us after the Christmas break.

Is there a way I can find out more about what the Society is like before I join?

Yes, anyone who would like to find out a bit more about the society, and what our meetings are like, is very welcome to come along to a couple of meetings as a guest (please note the £1 fee for refreshments/raffle is still payable).

If you send us a message using the 'Contact Us' page, we'll send you directions to our venue and ensure a committee member is on hand to answer any questions - or feel free to just turn up on the night.  There will always be a committee member there to answer questions.

What's the process for actually becoming a member?

Simply come to one of our meetings, ask for our Membership Secretary, pay your membership subscription, and you will be issued with a membership number and card. That's it.
