External Inter-club Battles and Competitions

Local Inter-Club Battles

These are friendly competitions (despite being known as Battles!) that are organised locally between photographic clubs.

The clubs involved take it in turn to host the competition and the club that gains the most points wins the 'Battle'.

Torbay PS currently takes part in three 'Battles' during the season:

  • The Sidmouth Battle, with Sidmouth Photographic Club.

  • The Plymouth Battle, with Plymouth Camera Club

  • The Three-way Battle with Paignton Photographic Club and Newton Abbot Photographic Club.

Members are welcome to come along to the competitions, either home or away, to support the club - whether or not their images have been selected.

There is no set theme for these events, but images that have previously been used in the same Battle are ineligible.
The club's entry is chosen by a selection panel from images that have won awards in internal competitions or have done well in other external competitions. Our competition rules state that members must make images that have received an award available for these External competitions.

Members are informed (via e-mail and at meetings) of images that have been selected for each Battle and any prints required from them for the Battle.

WCPF (Western Counties Photographic Federation)

The club generally participates in the following WCPF competitions:

Inter-Club Print Panel Competition (Kingswood Salver)

DPIC (Digital Projected Inter-club Competitions)
